Cookie usage

This page discusses how cookies are used by this site. If you continue to use this site, you are consenting to our use of cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer by your web browser at the request of a site you're viewing. This allows the site you're viewing to remember things about you, such as your preferences and history or to keep you logged in. Cookies may be stored on your computer for a short time (such as only while your browser is open) or for an extended period of time, even years. Cookies not set by this site will not be accessible to us.

Our cookie usage

This site uses cookies for numerous things, including:

  • Registration and maintaining your preferences. This includes ensuring that you can stay logged in and keeping the site in the language or appearance that you requested.
  • Analytics. This allows us to determine how people are using the site and improve it.
  • Advertising cookies (possibly third-party). If this site displays advertising, cookies may be set by the advertisers to determine who has viewed an ad or similar things. These cookies may be set by third parties, in which case this site has no ability to read or write these cookies.
  • Other third-party cookies for things like Facebook or Twitter sharing. These cookies will generally be set by the third-party independently, so this site will have no ability to access them.

Standard cookies we set

These are the main cookies we set during normal operation of the software.

  • xxx_token - Holds a valid encrypted token key which can be used by the user during their session to make calls to the AJAX service for additional API calls.
  • xxx_inviteid - Holds invited item ID when users click a special link within an email when being invited.
  • xxx_userid - Holds an encrypted user ID when a user logs in and is valid/successful.
  • xxx_password - Holds an encrypted password (without salt) for the successfully logged in user.
  • xxx_username - Holds an encrypted username for the successfully logged in user.
  • xxx_lastvisit - Holds the date & time the user last logged into the marketplace application.
  • xxx_lastactivity - Holds the date & time the user last clicked around any valid marketplace application page.
  • xxx_country - Holds the country name of the successfully logged in user
  • xxx_city - Holds the city name of the successfully logged in user
  • xxx_state - Holds the state/province name of the successfully logged in user
  • xxx_radiuszip - Holds the zipcode of the user selection when searching by radius within the search results page.
  • xxx_inlineproduct - Holds the list of selected checkbox selections any user makes within the front end application pages (so they are remembered and checked off) if the user decides to refresh the page (so they do not lose their selections). This cookie holds a list of item ids which are eventually removed one by one as each action removes IDs from the list (delete, moved, changed, etc).
  • xxx_ma - Holds a 1 (for true) or 0 (for false) if the user placing a new order is shipping to multiple shipping addresses (in the event an order is being placed by many sellers with many items). This cookie is used to remember the state in which the user wants to ship to multiple shipping addresses or not.
  • xxx_rid - Holds a unique 5 to 6 character referral ID code which can be used to send new users to the site under a specific and valid RID code for user to user marketplace promotion.
